Calne Summer Carnival 2022

It has been a long time coming so we are pleased to announce that we will again be entering the Calne Carnival this year on Saturday 25th June. Of course this would not be possible without the fantastic support of you and your families. The council have decided on Nursery Rhymes or Tales as the theme this year, so we have chosen the children’s favourite song ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’.

We are asking all children AND PARENTS from both our Calne and Lyneham settings to dress up in anything sparkly, black decorated with stars or dressing as a star themselves. Please ask Grandparents, Aunties and Uncles too, if they would like to join us, the more support we get the better our chances of getting a good place in the competition! During this celebration we ask you to make sure you are responsible for your child at all times as the Sunny Days Team are there to enjoy it too and some staff bring their own children as well. We will be making varous stars and sparkly things in the settings with the children and we will also have balloons for the children to hold. We will be meeting at Bremhill View Social Club for the judging at approximately 3.45pm and then the carnival procession will start at 4.30pm. Depending on the weather this is a bit of a wait with little children so please bring drinks and hats if it is hot and an umbrella if it is raining. We will walk down Lickhill Road and disperse once we get to the roundabout at the bottom end of the town.

In previous years we have had families come along from both our settings and so really do encourage Lyneham families to join us. We have really missed the carnival so once again your support in this matter would be very much appreciated, we really do hope you will be able to join us this year. We also need to strong parents to carry our banner, which is a little heavy after carrying it for a while so if you can help with this please let us know.
