Update 19 July 2022

Just an update on the heat and plans for today.
Yesterday was manageable as the buildings were cooler in the morning and the staff worked hard to keep everyone hydrated with lots of drinks for the children and themselves.
They also had lots of quiet activities and water play, we had the fans on and a supply of ice pops.
As the day went on the rooms did get hotter and we monitored the temperature and moved from room to room following the shade. Obviously, it is too warm to go outside. We will monitor how much the room temperature drops overnight and the forecast for today and will obviously manage the situation as best we can to help everyone stay cool.
However, we would ask that if you are lucky enough to finish work early today, or in a position to, please consider picking your child up a bit earlier.
If we are directed to by Wiltshire Council or feel that we are no longer able to keep the children cool in the buildings, we will call you and ask you to come and collect your little ones.

Thank you for your understanding.
