Our toddler rooms enable children to make their own choices and help them with their desire to become independent. Each toddler room offers a range of activities for children, including a cosy corner where children can rest, or listen to stories and investigate books. Children are encouraged to get creative in our dedicated art room where they can play with tactile resources, paints and junk modelling. Our static areas enable children to make their own choices and teach children to share the open-ended resources with the other children.
Staff within the toddler rooms observe each child, note their interests and build upon this by planning daily activities to best suit their needs and enhance their development. We encourage the children to develop independent skills and self-confidence as they are encouraged to feed themselves during meal times, seek to do things for themselves and begin to communicate their own needs.
It is important to us that all children are involved in physical activities, even in bad weather, making the most of the fresh air and change of environment.
