Manager for Lyneham

Sunny Days Children’s Nursery Lyneham are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic manager with plenty of vision and energy to join our team and help move the setting from a term time only pre-school to a busy and successful all year-round birth to school age nursery and out of school club. We are looking for someone with the experience of dealing with OFSTED and all the mandatory requirements of managing an Early Years Setting PLUS the enthusiasm and ideas to grow and develop this setting to sit alongside our busy and successful full day care nursery in Calne.

You will work as part of the Senior Management Team reporting to the Area Manager and Company Directors and the main tasks initially will involve growing occupancy, recruiting staff and expanding the new baby unit whilst also making sure the nursery is fully compliant and ready for OFSTED. You will be happy to take direction and guidance whilst also confident to work on your own, managing your team and setting on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be expected to spend time working in the rooms each week to model and teach quality practice and care. Excellent communication skills are vital to allow you to develop a partnership with parents, work closely with your staff team and also forge relationships with local schools, MOD Lyneham and the local community.

All applicants must be educated to minimum GCSE level with passes in four or more subjects, two of which should be English and Maths. Childcare qualified to a minimum Level 3 and fully trained in the Early Years Foundation Stage and safeguarding children, behavior management and first aid. Leadership training, including how to manage people and staff development is desirable. Good verbal and written communication skills is a must.

This role is full time shifts between 7.30-6 pm all year round. However part time would be considered for the right candidate.

Nursery Kitchen Assistant 

Sunny Days Children’s Nursery Calne are looking for an enthusiastic kitchen assistant to join our busy team at our nursery in Calne. 

We use a flexible nursery meals service that provides tasty and nutritious meals, and the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cooking and delivery of these meals along with other key tasks including maintaining a safe kitchen environment, following all health and safety guidelines, maintain accurate records where needed, snack and afternoon tea food preparation and serving.

Working 15 /20 hours per week, Monday to Friday you will ensure that all meals are prepared in accordance with the weekly menus, catering for all children, and where appropriate provide alternatives to children with any special dietary needs.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with a Food Hygiene qualification and experience of working in a childcare environment or kitchen with similar role.

Baby Room Leader

You will undertake a shared responsibility for health, safety and cleanliness throughout the nursery and work as part of a team towards a common goal sharing ideas and feedback to create consistency.

Artist in Residence

Sunny Days Children’s Nursery is looking for an Artist in Residence to work with our children in Calne and Lyneham.

This is a very special appointment as we are looking for someone who has a passion for helping children develop their deep curiosity, interests, potential and understanding of the world and their place in it through all forms of art.

Your job would be to nurture and guide the children’s creativity, in whatever form they wish to show it, helping them explore many different mediums.

The role would initially be for six hours a week term time only however this may grow, we would also like you to do some sessions during the holidays with our holiday club school aged children.

Experience of working in this type of role with young children required.

The role is for a six-month fixed contract; we are happy to consider a self-employed individual on a contractual basis and you must be able to get to our settings in Calne and Lyneham.
